that's why the slap was warranted, he could've killed himself if the seme wasn't fast enough to pull him out of the way, he would've died right in front of both the seme and the brother
I mean yes obviously don't know about the slap though maybe your values but not mine I've seen this scene like one hundred times and I've seen better scenarios without slapping or any violence which make the character realise their wrong doing
