i don’t get how anybody could actually prefer the “old artstyle” over how it is now. the coloring is super pleasing to look at. the lighting immerses you in the story because it helps the characters feel like a part of their environment (like the broad windows in zhenya’s office casting bright light onto him, or the chaotic frenzy of the car chase scene mid daylight). their facial features are a little better proportioned now than before, sometimes some panels looked off back then, though i can’t exactly put my finger on why.
also, them making zhenya look less masculine is actually making me rethink on whether i tolerate him or not. before, i loathed that hoe!!!! did NOT enjoy him one bit. but now he kinda looks like a cute kitty. that may be a loss for y’all but it makes him a teensy weensy bit better.
