I don’t think yooyeon was the villain in their past life. It seems that him and the MC had a good relationship and as Yooyoung found out he wanted to take him from his brother. The main character probably made a deal with Yooyoung to protect Yooyeon as he doesn’t hold much power in the house seen by the way he creeps around at night and doesn’t make appearances like his brother. Also the MC have the connection where his bad luck seems to disappear when they are around eachother (this doesn’t happen when the OG owner of the body presumably the re-incarnation of Yooyoung was still alive).
