The story gave off an impression that it was ML who ruined her family. But he didn’t because he didn’t set FL sister with the neighbour king, he didn’t cause her father to loose money it was his bad investment. The only thing he actually caused that’s considered bad is him taking the gold mine in the name of dowry.
But think about it. That gold mine was there for ages and the FL family didn’t discover it. It was ML who did. That place would have stayed undiscovered and the fl family would have gone bankrupt eventually. He on the other hand gave them 50% basically shared the profit equally. And I’m sure after becoming king he gave them much much more. Compared to that a gold mine is nothing. I’m just saying. The story gave off an impression that he did a lot of terrible things but he didn’t actually do them. It’s authors way of writing that caused us to have misunderstandings
But didn’t he use info about her sister to push her to be with him? And wasn’t he planning on pushing his way into her father’s territory if he was to not offer to let them in? At least that’s what I remember, he didn’t outright make her life miserable but he used that misery to get her in the palm of his hand so it kinda just as bad like I said a lot of it wasn’t that bad if he had just apologized but he knew he had her at the palm of his hand so he didn’t see the need to and thought everything he did was justified in getting them together
