I dont think the author would turn this to a reincarnation story. Yoneda kou has more realistic stories but with good ending. So i am still hopeful that masumi will save them.

I feel like they'll both die at the end. I don't see a good ending for this story. Might as well prepare myself for another tragedy. I just wish that the author will write a chapter where they get reincarnated and meet each other again.
