Agreed. It’s not his fault that horrible things happened to him but it’s his responsibility to be better and deal with his mental problems, he wouldn’t even have to do it on his own because many people would help him. But using it as an excuse to be even more of a piece of shit is disgusting and he should die in a ditch

There comes a certain point where he was right until he veered into being wrong. The MC is a good person because he was raised right. But the MC also sees only two kinds of people in his line of work, victims and perpetrators. It’s the perfect line of work for him to be a cop. He is the one that plays hero that helps the victims and punishes the perpetrators. However, there is also the fact the ML aims to destroy this logic by showing that not all perpetrators are clear cut bad people, some were also victims of well, of others, of circumstance, some turn to immoral deeds to survive. Even his own hero, his chief can veer into evil if one pushes the right buttons. That’s his point. But the thing is, the ML is also wrong in that there are people who were born in hell and yet CHOOSE to be better. That is where “choice” comes in. So they are on the opposite side of two extremes and.

It was half true. The fact that people learn from their environments. But what is not true is that people getting hurt means they can only do the same to others.
Other people try undo this cycle by being good to others and letting them not experience the same pain they've been through. Or in ML's case with his trust issues, just avoid hurting other people. Its the least we can expect if they try such justification.

Hmmm I guess they’re saying that he’s still shitty but what he said dose makes sense (applying to MC alone), in a way that MC is the way he is because his father raised him right. Like his goodness is not innate within him, just a product of his environment as such, that if his environment changes, it could be tainted. Like the ML is just using his good childhood against him, whereas if the MC had a shitty childhood and still CHOSE to be good, the ML would have nothing on him.

I agree to this tho. Taegun's lines about the place where you grow. A lot may say they experienced misfortunes but turned well still in the end. However, if you look around, Taegun is right in many ways. It's like being born to a christian family and growing as one. Why? Because it's what you saw, it's what you learned, it's what life taught you. Choice? Did you even have one the moment you were born and the moment you were being baptized at a tender age of 1 year old? Na ah, you are shackled by your own small body, just like you are shackled to where you grew up with. And just like that, you grew up as one. You may change, but when? When you finally found the one that suits your belief. If none? You die as one.
Although, there's were exceptions for some. Like the one's who replied. Lucky to have people around them to guide them. Lucky to be found. Me? I'd rather steal than die of hunger. It's survival over morality.
Taegun's point about wealth is good too. The MC might be able to fuck him up in the end, but Taegun's accomplishment using his wealth is already a proof. Just like how wealthy corrupt politicians live better than of those who they govern.
Taegun was lowk spitting facts( ̄∇ ̄")
