Let’s be real — the Taegu hate is kind of overblown. People are acting like he strutted in with a superiority complex but where exactly did that happen? When Taegu first encountered Yeongwoon, he was a total stranger Expecting him to jump in and save a kid he didn’t know in this situation isn’t realistic. Taegu’s job was to handle things cleanly, not jump in like a superhero. It’s not heartless, it’s cautious realism, especially for someone in his line of work.

Later on, we see Taegu grow. He starts to care about Yeongwoon. His protectiveness builds over time, not because he’s trying to act ‘better than Seo-in,’ but because he understands the kid’s vulnerability. That’s not arrogance that’s empathy. He never once downplayed Seo-in’s role in Yeongwoon’s trauma either.
Some ppl calling him ‘high and mighty’ is honestly a reach. Taegu is not a therapist. Expecting him to act all good and caring right when he meets YW is kinda off, no? His actions are consistent with someone trying to protect a person who’s starting to matter to him. And that’s far more than what some other characters did in key moments. You don’t have to like him but misrepresenting him is just isn’t it.

Yes and that’s why the story is so intriguing, the more the story unfolds the more we get into depth with these characters. Plus, all these characters have flaws! And that’s ok
