Tbh both the ML and SML suck. I just want my baby Yeongwoon to say fuck off to both of 'em and live a peaceful life that he VERY MUCH deserves. And to correct y'all, TEEN Seo-In "wanted" to do it because he felt relatable to Yeongwoon's situation somehow which later on became something he didn't wanna call it love. We all read that chap right? Adult Seo-In is literally a shadow of his dead evil bro. Idc about "misunderstanding", "he was hurt too", "he didn't know" typa shit. He KNEW Yeongwoon situation was WORSE than him. Regardless of what he knew or didn't know, he Hurt Yeongwoon badly. If we are gonns hate Mr.Gangsta Ajusshi for not stepping up and saving Yeongwoon-ah then we must also despise Seo-In for straight up Hurting Yeongwoon-ah and then being a bitch about it. All that "Seo-In had a sad past too!" don't cut it when we can't say for sure what kind of childhood Mr.Gangsta had. All I know is these are the bitches living the good life while my baby lost everything.

I’m not here to compare two characters just doing what their roles demand.
You ppl are mad because Taegu didn’t act the way they wanted him to, not because he was written inconsistently. That’s the real issue here.
You wanted fists flying, some gangsta power fantasy where he storms in and fixes everything with violence. And when he didn’t, suddenly he’s a “little bitch”? Be for real.
Taegu's entire arc is grounded in hesitation, observation, and slow realization. He wasn’t there to be a hero, he was there to finish a job. The fact that he didn’t instantly jump in swinging is the point. Real people especially those with baggage and survival instincts don’t act on impulse in situations they don’t fully understand. That’s not cowardice, it’s restraint.
And saying “he bailed” is just lazy. If anything, he chose the harder route to keep showing up without pushing too far, too fast. He tried to help in his own way. But you don’t like that because it doesn’t fit your “gangsta saves the day” agenda. You're basically upset he wasn't a one-dimensional fixer.
Also, let’s not pretend y’all are out here doing character studies. You're picking apart what he didn’t do instead of recognizing the nuance in what he did. You're not analyzing him you're projecting.
So yeah, you said what you said. And it still sounds like a tantrum over a character not meeting your personal checklist.

I agree that Seo-in also suck, I am not here to defend his actions lmao, he also fucked up big time with Yeongwoon but I picked up on the difference between the 2 when they know when somethings up with Yeongwoon.
While Taegu is trying to fix a mistake 10 years later.
Seo-in as soon as he noticed something was happening with the twink he dealt with it, he didnt wait.
And lets not forget that Seo-in past wasnt great, he was abused by his brother everyday and even his adopted dad laid hands on him but even so if he knew Yeongwoon was getting bullied back then, I know he would've done something.
I am not here comparing who is best for Yeongwoon cause that would obviously be me, but I am comparing actions between the 2 based on latest chapters.

Wow, you perfectly took the words out of my mouth when I first saw these comments, and said it even better. I completely agree with this.
When I first read the latest update, instead of focusing on the fact that he didn't take the initiative to help Yeongwoon, I felt a sense of appreciation for how real and plausible Taegu's character was.
The way he slowly lowered his guard towards Yeongwoon through their small interactions, starting from mild curiosity, then quietly observing, and eventually confronting the full extent of what he had been intentionally turning a blind eye to, was really amazing how the author/artist depicted it imo.
He didn’t look away and didn't take initiative because he didn’t care or because "he was a gangsta," but he did it because he didn’t want to get too close. And once he really saw the full extent of what Yeongwoon was going through, his guard was already down. At that point, he was already emotionally involved, whether he meant to be or not. That’s when the sympathy and pity started to come through. It was subtle, but it hit hard.

Huh? Seo-In knew Yeongwoon was getting beaten by his dad and he was the one who told him to run away. That's where he started feeling more relatable to his situation and started a true friendship. Not bcuz he "loved" him. He didn't even wanna call it love at all. He also knew his brother would be pissed if he hung around Yeongwoon which made Yeongwoon-ah that evil twin's target. And abuse? Yeah, I guess he was emotionally abused by his evil twin bro and also slapped ONCE by their father and that was horrible, of course. But as I mentioned Seo-In's past is bad but he didn't have it as bad as Yeongwoon-ah. Seo-In wasn't beaten daily and had to smile through it all. He had a mother who at least cared for his well being. He didn't have worry about money, food, place to sleep. His future wasn't taken from him. No one is out there holding a grudge against him over miscommunication. Holding their past over him, coercing into raping him, humiliating him, making him feel like nothing over things he had no control over as a teen. Hell, they were middle schoolers. Yeongwoon-ah was a middle schooler who only got a glimpse of a future he could've had that was left damaged just like him.
Seo-In had a sad childhood and I feel for Seo-In as a kid but adult Seo-In who made his own choices? I don't care what drove him to it. He is to be held responsible for it. Because Yeongwoon-ah never changed when he had every valid reason to. He reminded innocent. And maybe, that's why I'm more mad bcuz I wanted him to crash out. I wanted him to change to protect himself from Seo-In and anyone else who could hurt him.
P.S. From which angle does Yeongwoon-ah look like a twink to you? #-.-)

You think they "cooked" with that take? Let’s open your mind for a second.
Taegu is an adult and Seo-in is literally Yeongwoon’s age. they exist in two completely different contexts. Comparing them like they're playing the same role is already flawed. One’s navigating emotional maturity and guilt as an adult, the other is developing romantic feelings as a same-age teen.
And them saying "Taegu’s only protecting YW out of guilt" is such a surface-level take. His emotional arc is clearly layered .. guilt, care, confusion, even restraint. He wasn’t responsible for YW to begin with. But he chose to step in. That choice, especially from someone in his line of work, holds weight.
If you're mad that Taegu’s not protecting Yeongwoon out of love… I hate to break it to you, but that’s exactly why some people turn around and throw the pedo accusations. You want him to act like a lover, then get mad when others react accordingly. Pick a lane.
This story isn't a fanfic where every character exists to fulfill your fantasy. Let them be flawed. Let them be complex. That’s what good writing looks like.
Some of you Taegu fans sound dumb as fuck, its because he is//was a gangsta that he could've done something to protect Yeongwoon, nobody is saying he should've have "grabbed Yeongwoon hand and run off" LIKE STFU thats not it.
But we all expected him to do what he does best, beat, threaten people, he could've have done that to Yeongwoon dad to stop him from abusing his own son.
Also "he is a gangsta, he wouldn't help a stranger kid" and yet he sat down with that "stranger" kid almost every week // month, played games, ate donuts with him but when the time for him to use his gangasta power to help him came along he bailed, turned a blind eye, became a little bitch.
You know who's the real gangasta? Seo-in, thats right.
All it took for him to visit the twink was 1 phone call and he knew the twink was blackmailing Yeongwoon, bro didnt wait until the next day, he went there the same day at night time and beat the shit out of him so that he could say why he was threatening Yeongwoon.
U see the difference between the 2. Taegu is only doing something now out of guilt, Seo-in been doing it out of love, even when he was younger all he wanted was to "do something" to protect Yeongwoon.
I said what I said.
