Yes. It takes a while to get that explanation but the real power is the Duke. For reasons every grand Duke needs a king but the king doesn't really holds THE power. King do hold some power of decision but it mostly needs to be approved by the Duke. That happens in other empires as well
Spoiler: the authority skill can be rescinded and he did that to let the duke take care of the kingdom when he was away + he doesn't have great attack skills atp
I’m in the beginning of the story (ch.6) and this whole time I’m thinking, why isn’t he using his power as KINGGG to get him out of the shackles?? Like, does being king mean nothing
