sureee, you may know this already but since chase doesn't want to spend his rut with anyone, neither attend pheromone parties, he started to take drugs and injections to let out pheromones bc that way he didn't have to do anything sexual and steward (the doctor who appears in Kiss me, liar) is the one in charge of his medication, he also gives him pills to let him sleep bc he has problems with it so chase is kinda dependent on all of this drugs, he has even been warned a lot of times about the injections bc, even if he's a dominant alpha, an excessive use of it can rot his arm and also affect his health.
then, this happens in the extras, after the story ended: he stopped taking his medication (without consulting his doctor) bc he started to feel good after doing it with Josh so he thought it wasn't necessary to continue with his treatment and Josh also thought it was fine bc he didn't knew that well what the drugs did for him (Josh didn't liked how many drugs he consumed and he wished Chase could stop his treatment soon) but when he attends a consultation with his doctor he's told to continue with them, since suddenly abandoning the medication can kill him or give him a shock. he continues with them but after a while (i don't remember how much) he's taking a break after filming and he starts coughing blood and faints, he's taken to the hospital and after a day he wakes up and goes with Josh to talk with his doctor, who ran some test to know his status. the doctor asked him if he continued with his medication and chase said yes, Josh does too bc he was sure to check it, but the doctors tells them the status of his pheromones is very bad, Josh asks if it's possible to stabilise Chase marking him but he's told he can't do that bc it's dangerous and can make chase go to shock anddd bc Josh is an omega, he kinda affects the Chase's state so he's ordered to maintain his distance from him. since the contract of all the team of bodyguards was about to end, Josh one is ended earlier and he's sent home. but after some weeks (I thinkkk) of chase being treated by steward, he goes into rut and bc he didn't wanted to spend it with anyone else (bc he already has his omega<3333) grayson has to go for Josh to bring it to the mansion where chase is, there they spend the rut together and Josh marks him, after it the doctor runs another tests and finally Chase's pheromones stabilized. steward admits that maybe stopping the medication earlier, when chase stopped taking his medication the first time, was a better idea but as a doctor he can't always take the correct decisions (kinda hate him for that but in the novels it's shown how he doesn't care about alphas, he only likes to experiment with them A LOT and Chase was his most important subject bc he's the only one who has been taking the suppressants in long-term)

chase wasn't a drama queen or something like that, he was out of it after taking his new medication and I knowww it's crazy how many pills he gulped up but !he's used to doing that!
explanation (this can have spoilers, so if you don't want to read it, don't): in Zig's universe dominant alphas need to let out their pheromones or they'll have their brain fried (just like Ashley, Chase's father) but Chase is traumatised thanks to his brother Grayson so he doesn't go to pheromone parties, neither does he spends the night with omegas or betas, instead he started to use special and crazy strong suppressants and drugs to deal with his pheromones bc his body, as a dominant alpha, is stronger than the human's average (this is mentioned in the novels, they can't get drunk, normal suppressants don't work on them, etc) so he has this idea it doesn't matter how much he consumes, he's gonna be fine.
