This could’ve ended with no couple

Like they made a whole big thing about loving yourself before being able to give love to others, that sometimes you just aren’t meant to be, to value yourself and personal growth… I FEEL LIKE YAHWI DIDN’T REALLY DO THAT??? AND THEN THEY ENDED UP TOGETHER ANYWAYS????? WHILE CAIN IS DOING HIS ABSOLUTE BEST ????? AND THEN THE AUTHORS BASICALLY SAY HE WAS JUST THERE FOR THE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OF THE MAIN COUPLE?????????? I HATE WHEN LOVE TRIANGLES AREN’T ACTUALLY LOVE TRIANGLES AND WHEN THE 2ND LEAD ONLY SERVES AS A PLOT DEVICE FOR OTHER CHARACTERS LIKE … where’s the high stakes… THERE ARE NONE. Why make me love the 2nd lead just to use him as a tool its ridiculous like he never had a chance in the first place and was never written to have a chance

Like whole chapters dedicated to lecturing the readers on the importance of taking care of yourself and putting yourself first , to live your own life… just for him to end up with one of the options anyways AFTER YAHWI LITERALLY DIDN’T GROW HE JUST GOT A JOB AND HOPELESSLY YEARNED LIKE YEAH NOW HE CAN BE A BETTER BOYFRIEND BUT IS IT BECAUSE HE FOUND HIMSELF? BECAUSE HE GREW UP? BECAUSE HE LOVES HIMSELF ENOUGH TO LOVE OTHERS? BECAUSE HE PUT IN THE WORK TO LIVE WITH HIS TRAUMA? It didn’t show me any of that and I feel like if it did THEN I’d be less annoyed that anyone ended up with anyone.
