I have a feeling that she broke that ankle when the Duke saved her when he was seven, and he had to pick her up and carry her.
Breaking an ankle is like a life long curse because that ankle never really heals right. It's her same ankle that she keeps hurting.

Also I have to say, it always drives me up the wall when "strong FL who is literally an expert of combat/stealth/etc behind the scenes" is RARELY shown being strong. Like she keeps getting injured in ways that are a little goofy. Its not too bad rn but I guess ive just seen it so much that seeing it this time round hit a nerve
