yes!! that was really weird...he was the only character that couldn't be freed from the control.
Unless...he wasn't controlled at all?
Maybe he knew all along that this is a novel and it's made for him and him alone and he was entitled to everything?
Should we be concerned about Ferson saying that "the world was created for him"? Does that mean he knows that he's in a novel and he was the main character?
