Atp the church and its officials are just there to preach "faith in god" and not their teachings or principles. Its their way of holding the narrative and have control over the people because its one of their nation's strongest qualities(?), per se
When a devotee firmly believes in the authority of a diety, naturally they also stand by the "fact" that their god should be at the top, higher than the imperial family itself. An Authority higher than the royals themselves is the goal of the church thus why they're imposing their power and reducing the powerful families so the other's wouldn't cross them:)

Since I started reading this when it first came out, I'm seeing that.
Bruh, this is why I can't with this church. Like they have completely stepped away from what "church" is supposed to be cause all places of worship were and aren't supposed to be like this, but certain folks got their grubby little hands on it and changed so much, folks can't tell what's right anymore
