The non BL AU story is an extra manga the story released for those who bought volume 5 in animate store so it’s exclusively to animate but it’s also kind of canon (just an AU in this case)
So in this other Asia app I saw some side stories and there is an alternate universe of it where it’s not a BL world, so none of the couples are together. Hatano is walking with his friends and talking how about he finds it troublesome to like someone and be subjected to their whims (i.e. you get happy or sad because of them). While saying this, MC passes by, and Hatano stares at him for a moment and then continues on his way. So in an No BL AU, Hatano is still a little teeeeeeny tiny bit mesmerized by MC.
