I mean it makes sense in the context of his gambling house/drug pen. He was able to survive in the environment by appeasing authority and being quick on his feet but here with the military personnel they don’t subscribe to quick thinking or his antics plus with the way they’re steeped in hierarchies and dominance it makes sense why he’s a bit anxious and prone to mistakes
Plus he isn’t aware that he’s able to get pregnant so he isn’t aware of the level of danger he’s currently in

He was literally working with the military all along. This last chapter shows him working with the military. He just becomes incompetent when the ML is in the room.
This is a common trope that authors do all the time. They want their bottom to look weaker smaller and dumber than their top because misogyny.
Also he's some sort of drug expert who knows everything there is to know about drugs but they've somehow been slipping him drugs that grow a womb and he didn't notice? Again this is all misogyny.
You don't see it you don't understand yaoi. I don't love the trope but I don't mind it as long as it's portrayed equally. If he's a soft dumb boy then make him a soft dumb boy, if he's a competent scheming man then make him a confident scheming man. Don't make him a competent scheming man until the top shows up.

Agree to disagree but he was pummeled by the ML like idk anyone who’d have a coherent thought process in front of a juggernaut like that. Also he doesn’t become “incompetent”, he’s scared shitless lmaoo it gets better as the story develops
I also see the subtleties that the author preyed on but again I’m just referencing the context within the story. Of course there a blatant themes that don’t really mesh well with the plot the author is intending or subscribing to.
He’s a drug mule expert; he’s not a medical expert or body expert. He was adept at handling and distributing the drugs. We actually don’t know how he got tested on but it doesn’t seem to be with his knowledge. From what the ML implied at the time it seemed to be a modification made on him while he was unconscious or unaware.
The whole novel is really good. I’d suggest reading it too
I'm a little confused. They keep playing up the MC like he's some sort of genius and able to survive as a gangster for so long by being manipulative and clever... But whenever we see him he is a weak damsel.
I wish authors would make up their minds. He was competent and capable until he met the ML, now he's just a damsel who exists to get knocked up.
