Indian curry was what Inami had in mind. Usually made with beef sometimes chicken. Side dish boiled egg and pickled veggie or acar, papadam, bhaji and raita. It depends I guess. And you served them separately.

yep, as an indian, when he said mixed pickles it clicked. i’ve never had japanese curry either so i actually related more with inami on that side. just shows that sometimes, rather than it just being wealth disparity, it’s also a matter of being brought up differently in different households. i’m glad aoi could see through that, though i understand the initial feeling when it feels like someone is picking on something very dear to you.

I've had Japanese curry once before and I can't vibe with it. My Japanese colleague brought me to this restaurant that was supposed to have the best curry near our office and tbh I had such a high expectation that by the end of the meal I was furious. It was sweet and my mind cannot fathom it. Ofc I didn't tell them. Because growing up curry was supposed to be spicy and lots of flavours and spices. In one scoop of the broth you'd get bits and pieces of everything like onions, cumin, ginger and chili peppers. And later on through manga I found out that they put chocolate in them. Mind blown. And that explains why Japanese kids love curry.

SWEET?? CHOCOLATE??? give me a second.. i feel like i need to actually try some now. i mean, ‘indian curry’ isn’t exactly a thing because there are so many types of curries that you couldn’t really specify it as one dish but rather as a type of dish. but it’s always been spicy and flavourful, i feel for you hopefully the sweetness wasn’t too bad (?) this is like putting pineapple on pizza but hey, it’s just food (︶︿︶)
