hope we’re aware this is meant to be a PSYCHOLOGICAL bl and not something catered to the masses. its meant to be dark.
all in all this story was hauntingly beautiful, tho i could never bring myself to read again for the sake of my own sanity. i saw someone mentioned it reminded them of banana fish and i complete agree except this one is 10x darker. ur forced to see all that geom was forced to endure from start to finish. so many times i wanted to stop reading, but i couldn’t bring myself to. the author that wrote this knew EXACTLY how to play with people’s emotions. my heart ached, i cried, i laughed. as soon as u got an inkling of joy, they’d hit u with twice the misery. not gonna sugarcoat it this was EXTREMELY mentally exhausting. it was sick and twisted in all the right ways. i would never recommend this to anyone without warnings beforehand. it pains me knowing this is a completely realistic situation in the real world which made it all the more difficult to read.
this story had an amazing opening. i was instantly captivated. before i knew it i blew through the whole thing. the sequence of events, the storytelling, the characters.. honestly what more can i say besides it all being cultivated to perfection. the main focus of this story wasn’t geoms revenge, it was geom struggling to find his place, to survive in this twisted world. in the end he achieved his happiness with wooyeon, someone who accepted every part of geom, including the ugly parts. usually i’m disappointed when there’s no side stories, but with this there was no need for that. it was fully conveyed that geom and wooyeon will live their lives to the fullest with each other and that’s all us readers need to know.
i hope despite the dark theme people will still be willing to push through. take pauses when needed to alleviate the toll it’ll take. we have the luxury to do that. at the very least to me this story will forever stay in my heart.
