Rereading this today, and the art is just so beautiful. It may look simple at first, but the anatomy, proportions, and poses are so well done. You can tell the mangaka simplified their drawing technique for the manga, but they’re capable of drawing more detail. They’re also good at setting the mood/atmosphere. They drew Kamakura beautifully especially in later chapters.

This is something that really happens in real life (trauma, depression, stagnating, isolation as a coping mechanism), and I can relate, except for the trash part, since I’m kind of a germaphobe. I wish more mangaka would make stories like this, discussing important real-life topics instead of romanticizing rape or student/minor–adult relationships.

I was wondering why the rating isn’t higher, and I think it’s because the story is short, so the process of falling in love feels a little rushed.

I hope to see more works from this mangaka, Joe Aruku.
