Woe! Political slow burn upon ye!

Ok, for anyone who doesnt understand the political talk, here's a copy paste of my comment on another reader's question. Feel free to add or fix anything I miss:

Incheol (bottom, suit guy) is a favorite advisor of Representative Lee (old woman, prime minister candidate). He is sent to a Central District neighborhood to finish up a redevelopment project. This project was first managed by his rival Advisor Cha in the last two years (older guy in suit who Incheol called sunbae).

The project is delayed because Pyeonghwa (top, boxer guy) refused to sell his gym. The gym will get in the way of the new building plan. Imagine trying to build a park but you got this whole building smack dab in the middle of the land you want to build it on. So Incheol's job is to persuade Pyeonghwa to give up his gym.

Incheol is so stressed because this project is considered not important and force him to go on a business trip away from where his political party usually operates. I think it was actually considered a form of punishment of some sort because Advisor Cha was sent there as part of his "exile", presumbly for falling out of Representative Lee's favor (it was hinted that his exile was caused by Incheol). So now Incheol is afraid that he is either falling out of Rep Lee's favor or Advisor Cha is going to steal his place as Rep Lee's right hand man. That's why he's in a rush to finish the job.

In come Pyeonghwa, who wont sell his gym for any amount of money or favors. Incheol tried to ask the neighborhood representative (the union) to put pressure on him to sell, but noone would do it because they were "bribed" by Pyeonghwa through the form of betting fraud (I presume they would bet on his boxing matches and he would choose to win or lose based on their bets). Incheol can't do illegal things to force Pyeonghwa either because Rep Lee is afraid of being cancelled by the press for corruption (which the current prime minister is being investigated for). So Incheol literally can't do anything except fuck/kill Pyeonghwa to convince him to sell the gym.

Advisor Cha meanwhile is lowkey bullying/gaslighting Incheol by sending him text messages saying that he's doing a bad job and hinting that Rep Lee is not happy that he's taking so long to finish the project. He also tries to isolate Incheol from Rep Lee and the political party. Meanwhile Rep Lee is being very vague about her opinion of Incheol (she seems to value him for his usefulness but also uses him like "a dog"). We won't know her full plan for now. But because of her vagueness and Advisor Cha's bullying, Incheol is at the end of his rope.

Pyeonghwa meanwhile is so down bad for Incheol he can't even fuck right anymore. That's the current point of the story we're on.
