I had a very similar upbringing to Jaekyung, so I understand his thoughts and actions very much. The author has written this character absolutely brilliantly. Not to say what Jaekyung did to Kim Dam was right, but if you are raised like that, and treated like that by the people who are supposed to love you, it’s pretty goddamn difficult to change what you’ve been taught without going to therapy. I was very much like Jaekyung when I was younger, heartless and cold, attacking anyone who I perceived as a threat, but I had to viciously retrain my behaviour through therapy, and I bet Jaekyung could become a better, (mentally) stronger person if he just worked on himself as I did.

Exactly I feel like the people who do nothing but complain about the story and still reads It is so stupid. Never was JK to be seen as a good guy and I think that’s the intention but what people are refusing to acknowledge is that most people aren’t just straight up evil he still has a long way to go but I can see completely how he’s gotten like this and it’s sad but realistic

Tbh the people have the right to complain rn. We’re at the point in the story where it seems like Kim Dan is feeling bad for Jaekyung and is close to running to his arms after learning his backstory. I agree with yall that JK’s actions are realistic but, like OP said, it’s difficult to change without going to therapy or working on yourself. It seems like the story is just completely skipping that part and just gives us a sad backstory to excuse his actions and make everything okay. I’m not liking the direction the story is headed because of that but I won’t have a definite opinion on whether or not it’s a good story until they show a proper redemption for Jaekyung

I 100% agree but I so stand at the thought of if you can see it through then don’t read it opinions are valid but when people read things just to complain it’s childish personally I hope after the whole backstory shit Dan still stands on business Jk needs more development and self reflection but I’m worried for where this story is gonna go
