I feel like the author dragged for too long the "shitty Jaekyung" arc. Now it doesn't matter what she shows us. I don't think the character will gain sympathy from the public, no matter what he do.
And it sucks because they will obviously end up together...

    I don't think the purpose of his backstory is to make us pity him or sympathize with him. The author must have something planned for his suffering, we might see him going down soon or something

    You think junmin will try to bring up something from his past? Like try to connect him to drugs or some shit and try to ruin his reputation? Or will they find out his relationship with Dan and try to kidnap and hurt him in exchange for losing a match?
