well, it heavily leans on patriarchal stereotypes of what a man should be like, for one. if he has a low libido, its a problem, if he wants to wait for marriage, its a problem. if he’s asexual its a problem. men should always be rearing to go, and hes a robot for not wanting it right out the gate. its not a matter of wrong or right, but moreso a mismatch in values and expectations. if the genders were swapped this would be p much a non fiction. not that this setup isn’t reality either for some people. gah.
i heard somewhere that a relationship should try to follow the pace of the more conservative partner. they’re the one that has a lot more to lose if they push past their boundaries and comfort levels too quickly. if its too slow for you, you leave and find someone who’s more at your level. theres so many people out there, after all.
