The author who possessed OG FL did start out with good intentions when wanting to end the cycle after going through it so many times, but the OG FL started the process by making bad decisions, one that she picked a terrible teammate for the author to work with.
Terrible as in they had different goals and the first teammate was not a fan of the original work haha. Although I’m not sure how big/brain-dead of a fan they would have to be in order to be willing to follow the author’s idea to break the cycle to begin with.
But since the author couldn’t take criticism to her precious masterpiece of a story (which I’m kinda shocked that she can’t see the flaws or isn’t sick of it after repeating so many times - didn’t she originally want to leave?) that she decides to protect the plot instead?? And torment the 12 Edith reincarnations who want to change the plot???
The author was kinda right about Killian being part of the change needed to end the cycle, OG FL was not the way to go since he wasn’t the OG ML and truly saw her as a sister. Why tf did she want both brothers’ attention, only for one to live his days as a lonely second lead?
Honestly, that’s where OG FL messed up. She should’ve brought the author in Edith’s body so she can experience the flaws of the story. I can only hope that Edith’s 8 vengeful reincarnations can take their revenge on her, but yandere OG ML will come save her. I have mixed feelings: glad that unlike some stories, the OG leads stay together, but mad that they can be together after all what they did in the story.
I wonder if the author tried to pick Edith and make her happy like the OG FL wanted, would the cycle end? Or maybe the plot would’ve interfered with their friendship because of the author’s influence. Either way, doomed yuri vibes
