I think either the translation was off or just the way their dialogue / story was flown, quite a lot of details were left out of scene (that was why suddenly a lot of T/N (translator's notes) were pasted everywhere, because the story felt lost or confusing at some point).
I got lost with the plot halfway but by the end I think I understood is that just me?
