I mean poor guy.. but it really doesn’t excuse what he did to Dan, just because he was brought up in an abusive and disfunctional household doesn’t mean he gets to abuse others. DO NOT COME FOR ME!!! Im speaking from experience and it took a lot of therapy for me to stop excusing my dad’s actions just because his father was doing the same to him. IK this is just a manhwa so it shouldn’t be taken too seriously but im just writing this for anyone who has been in a similar position as me, just because the abuser was also a victim, it doesn’t make anything they do to you justifiable. CYCLE OF ABUSE CAN BE BROKEN

unfortunately like you said it takes a lot of experience and therapy, and some people just don’t want help or won’t accept it. it CAN be broken but you have to WANT to break it, speaking from experience so people who don’t want to fix it or don’t want to fix their issues end up on the same path of abuse, you have to see the issue and resolve it before hurting anyone else. ( this isn’t mostly abt the story- but i could see how this also applies- some people fix it when it’s too late which could be Jaekyung, ignoring the issue and lashing out instead)

oh but not excusing his behavior at all to clarify! i think the author mishandled the abuse plot a bit imo by kinda glamorizing it in a way, but trying to explain what causes the cycle and why it’s not always easy to fix, the problem lies within the beholder, but again not defending him or this sorry at all!! i think the author kinda fantasizes abusiveness in stories to redeem them later on- which isn’t realistic and kinda strange
