Hm... honestly I'm usually part of the NO ROMANCE PLEASE GROUP.... mainly because authors are shit when writing it... ene even shittier when writing fenale characters... so when they put romance in good comics... 90% of the time it gets downgraded to say the least...
But in this one? At this point? Yeah. It's about time for romance to become a topic. Both for it as a comic and for the mc as a character. So while I get people in the comments fearing this going to shit because of it... I agree with you more. Especially because we need to see more actors, singers ans idols involved in romance and getting a happy ending. We really need to normalize people in showbiz having a life outside of it... especially romance-wise...
I was particularly upset because this isn't a story "about acting". This is HIS story. Yes, of course it has acting because that's part of his life, an important part. But that doesn't mean his life revolves around acting all the damn time. Now, here is a chance that something might happen. It might not even happen. Who knows. But all I saw where comments yapping about romance and whatnot. As if life (real life) doesn't have romance in it.
Also, as you say. Korean showbiz is extremely toxic when it comes to their idols dating life. It's sucks.

Of course there are manhwa with romance story so bad because of the character and the romance really came out of nowhere.
But, this story isn't like that. The romance aspect is ALWAYS there.

Why reader always act like MC from manhwa can't have romantic relationship. Even if the romance progress isn't good story wise, TOO BAD, not romance story is always good, even in real life.
I always welcome romance aspects in the story, as long as the main story is good and it's not some kind of harem or just disrespectful towards both women or men partner.

Exactly! Even more so because I feel the story is already finishing telling his story... It would be different if it focused too much on their relationship since they met/were teens... but at this point it kinda feels right to put romance in it... he lived his life again, fixed his mistakes, achieved his goals, seen his mother be happy again... he did most of the important things and is high time for him to start thinking about his love life and future.
I really get the romance is part of life argument... I agree with it too... after all I married in my early 20s... it's just... as I said... authors do a bad job writing it... like... so bad that stories like this one where it actually feel well made are very rare...
Usually they use romance as either plot device, with mc running around because of a woman or they make it harem just to show that mc is so good there's a ton of women after them... not to mention the fanservice... to the point even the clothes are drawn weirdly just to emphasize how hot they are... And not evenremance fantasy escapes the romance fcks it up effect... because 90% of the time the females mc's get nerfed and dumbed down as soon as the ml appears... no matter how good she is, her romantic partner needs to be stronger, wealthier and smarter... and like me a lot of romance readers are fed up too...
I get the anger seeing so many comments complaining about it when it's not that bad... but to me that just shows how traumatized we readers are with so much bad romance around...

And I agree with you. As long as there's nothing degrading towards either of the characters, that's okay. It's part of the story. People can chose not to read the parts they don't like, can't they? Lol
I do understand that people might dislike romance arcs because of past stories and all that. And that there are great stories with no romantic arc. It doesn't mean that romance has to ruin this story.
And I've seen things about how they don't have chemistry and all. But to be fair, our man has been working himself to the bone out there doing his acting jobs, so when was he even going to think about romance? He was focused on working and his mom, that's what we see from his point of view. Doesn't mean there's no chemistry since he himself hasn't thought about romance since coming back from his first life.
So I get it. It might upset them, but the story hasn't even begin to show us their real relationship or how could developed into something, it might be too early to start yapping about it.
This might be the start of the romance route or it might be not. But I hate it with all my gremlin soul when people start yapping about the romance in a manhwa like this. What do you mean you don't want romance? ROMANCE IS PART OF LIFE. THIS IS HIS LIFE. Like, do you want him to be alone in the end? His mom is happy now, can't he discover happiness too? It might not work. It might not even begin with her. But here are people yapping about the romance that it's hasn't even begin.
But I did scream like a feral gremlin when it ended and there was no more chapters.
Boy, if my precious baby wants to date then I'm happy for him. He deserves everything.
