I always wondered what happened to his mom! she really cared for Ferson but she ignored the physical and mental abuse the duke was giving the young Ferson but secretly helped him but it's not enough...she wasn't there to comfort him physically. but it's weird how he was the only one that was still controlled and influenced by the og novel...even the female lead was free from that control and got redemption.
