I mean, can you blame them? They’ve both been through some shit and never got therapy. The alpha is an ass, but I understand him. He feels like if he doesn’t do what the beta wants, he’ll be left alone and that terrifies him. For the longest time, he’s seen the beta as his only family, the only one he’s got. So to avoid losing him, he rashly (and insensitively) decided to get into a romantic relationship with the beta.
As for the beta, he’s very sensitive emotionally. He’s seen the alpha date others and break up with them like it’s nothing. For the longest time, he never thought he’d have a chance. Even though now that he has the chance, he’s too insecure and he’s hurt because of the alpha being emotionally unavailable. He can’t stay happy even in those cute moments because he knows the alpha doesn’t have feelings for him(yet) and is only staying because he doesn’t want the beta to leave his side.
It’s very complicated, but realistic imo. Both of them are being annoying, but I understand their point of views, so it’s hard to stay mad lol.
