It became nonconsensual and it’s more fleshed out in the novel they also shouldn’t have cut the chapter there and also they should have given him more expression when apologizing he was way more emotional when he said he was scared in the novel REGARDLESS it was an awful read and did ruin it I’m in denial because the story was really well written otherwise such well written obsession of two unique well fleshed out individuals and not your everyday type of love story but there’s no forgiving his actions and lack of accountability in future chapters they kind of move on maybe with the tacit understanding he can’t do that again but it did ruin a great story for me really wish that part never happened. It did seem kind of real life as obsession/jealousy/anger can turn to violence but he should have gotten counseling to be a better partner and spent much more time actively reflecting on his behavior. Or they just didn’t have to write that storyline

you've written everything so perfectly. its literally so upsetting—it felt like it came out of nowhere too from how seheon was written as a character before this scene it felt out of character and place from him :/ im genuinely gna pretend this shit never happened in order to continue this with a sour taste in my mouth...

Awww thank you that’s so sweet of you and yeah the writing is top notch in the novel love how they developed the characters to how they fleshed out the legal/work aspect of the story. I was really impressed with the writer’s knowledge and how detailed the characters were we got to really understand them and their nuances.
I’m trying to think in simple sense the author was once again trying to portray how the top is doing everything out of character and going past the point of no return in evidence of how much he is obsessed with and loves the uke (biggest example is sacrificing everything he built in his career/life for the uke and what odds he would go to do everything for him) as in the chapter when he’s remorseful and saying he’s scared he didn’t know he could feel this way or behave this way BUT DIDN’T EVEN USE THE WORD SORRY but this was NOT the route I wanted the author to present and I don’t want to believe he would behave this way either he protected the uke in every way (aside from verbally lol) before this so it’s a real shame to a would be masterpiece. Okay him slamming the uke against the bookcase early on in the story may be evidence but I was assuming that was more passion and recklessness and kinkiness :(

i completely agree with you on everything! i haven't read the novel yet but from how even the manhwa was written so far there's no doubt the novel as the original source is even better. like you said, its most certainly the author tried to express how the uke has been a constant outlier in the seme's life, but unfortunately kr authors can hardly ever create a work devoid of noncon. "beyond the memories" is another example of an incredibly well-written novel in terms of the ml's character development, redemption and grovelling, but the truth revealed at the end leaves a sour taste in your mouth after crying for multiple chapters :(
