Okay kinda valid ig. Listen I’ve been an avid reader of manga, manhwa since we’ve been foraging in the trenches. But it still gives me and loads of old gen the ick when authors do stuff like this. True you can always click away and don’t read. But this rampant and recurring theme of non-consent being sexy is just (first of icky) and second of so unnecessary. Like why you be getting turnt on by hurting your girl. If it was in a dom/sub with consent, I’d understand. But it makes some people wonder as a reader if the author may think this way towards real life relation? (Most probably not, cos for sure they’d be in jail if so) but there are quite young or impressionable people in our community that’d read this. Sometimes I’m afraid what they’d take out of this. Would they try to replicate this in real life. I mean that’s the epidemic we have with corn nowadays. People know it’s not real, yet they reenact it. I know I’m rambling but the moral of the huge paragraph is it’s just not black and white these sort of things. Are the authors still gonna have this same plot line? For sure. I don’t think anything can stop them from using this overepresented trope. But it’s always curious to me why it remains so popular even after years. Yepp that’s all. No hate to anyone.
