That's too bad. I'm loving it here, just remember her mom is just a side character and doesn't contribute to the plot. My advise is to keep reading understand the reason for the main characters' actions and the story turns really interested
i get you, and i know i was definitely overreacting but it wasn’t only that, there was some other small things that i didn’t really love, and i know that shouldn’t have to take away from a story but im unfortunately kinda picky, and maybe i was just projecting... anyways ill might pick it up again but even then, this trope is so common it’s hard to find stories in this genre that particularly stick with me so yeah..
Lmao yeah I got put off by that too ngl. Have to disagree with that other commenter on not contributing to the plot though. If the mother didn't make unnecessary spending, their financial status wouldn't be as bad as it was and she wouldn't have to go and meet up randos just to make ends meet
The original novel is all about the family reaching bankruptcy so it was bound to happen. We just got to see how it happened. But the decision she made was not just driven by her mom's spending but because she wants to retire young. Also, the mom ended up spending more because she was targeted by the Clan guy in order to make her accept a job with them. Which she ended up staying because of her personality and now has a strong link. Not defending the mom but my opinion still stands that she is just a side character that does not contribute to the actual important parts of the plot
Ah, that makes sense now. I didn't get to that part yet. Agree to disagree on the mom part though lol I'm just biased. Definitely still a side character but a useful idiot used as a tool to manipulate the MC's finances in order to have her meet the freaky ahh guild guy

like what the fuck do you mean you spent the family’s emergency fund when they were ALREADY in heavy debt, and the mc herself was putting her OWN money that she earned into that fund, over a bunch of jewelry and dresses. the way the author was glossing over that fact was so weird and the mc was not mad at ALL! girl i’d be soooo pissed.. plus when she confronted her mom, tell me she was acting like a child.. ma’am, you have 3 children and should not be acting like that infront of your daughter who seems to be carrying that stupid family on her back. ugh anyways i’m gonna drop this cause that was pissing me offfff! but i hope she ends up with blondie
