Exactly...the fated pairs would have been perfect for each other, but they would be stagnant. Taiga and Yuka would have the same dynamic as school, they would have been pretty toxic for each other. Kaoru would have accepted Rin out of kindness and sense of responsibility, but he has loved Yuka since childhood so he would have never completely opened up to him.
Meanwhile, Yuka and Kaoru push-pull each other to grow while Rin brought out Taiga's protective Alpha instincts.

Not closeminded. It's not a wrong assessment. The fated pairs ARE perfect for each other, but perfection is always stagnant. There's no room for growth. When they broke that perfect relationship, they all found growth. As someone who truly believes in weird destiny, I feel that both being fated and breaking that fate was meant to happen.
If Taiga hadn't misunderstood his "fated sign" and pushed Yuka to Kaoru, they would never have gotten together, circumstances notwithstanding. If Rin hadn't met Kaoru, his fated partner, and gone crazy, Taiga would never have realised his own feelings, not would he have changed himself and his whole mindset to take care of Rin.
Yuka needed someone who could understand him and his whims, and pamper and coddle him. He needs a sweetheart who will take care of him, but also give him space, and Kaoru is perfect for him.
Meanwhile, Rin needs someone to hold him and protect him, someone who will go crazy over him. He doesn't need a nice guy, he needs a villain who will burn the world for him. That's exactly what Taiga is. When he accepted Rin and his feelings, he was all in, ready to fight, even when Rin had no idea who he was.
The fated partners were perfect, but breaking the fated pairing was also fate.
its kind of strange i dont know if im reading into it too much but the way the original fated pairs are meant to be makes a lot of sense some how? like if you look at their personalities it was like taiga knew yuka and how he would behave when he adviced kaoru even though it had been years since they were friends, on the other hand kaoru would have saved rin with his kindess but genuinely wow kaorus love for yuka was so raw and pure the way he was able to overcome the fated feeling with his vision of yuka was sooo beautiful
