Ok so take this spoiler with grains of salt bcs i'm not very sure some of it is true,
I heard that esterion, our cute emerald eyed guy at least have some crush on knox. Knox hired 2 other aides beside him but since the very start he placed esterion as his 'mistress' to provoke the emperor and the duke.
Knox called him to his room at night just to have him sleep until dawn to showed that they spend the night together and flirted with esterion around the staffs (spies planted by both shitty MLs) like biting his nape, kiss him, at some point asked to get marked, etc.
Esterion also got protective of knox bcs he knows how much suffering knox experienced with the devils jahsjsbjsajak i pray the manhwa make them end up together.
(This is the part where i'm not very sure) At some point, after meeting the shitty ML knox asked esterion to sleep with him for real but he refused said that he didn't want to just fill his emptiness (?) or something so yea he refused.
