I'm referring to the manga when I say "this story" sorry I should have clarified that better, idk if the author is focusing on the manga now or something but I'm hoping if the manga starts to get progress then maybe the novel will get finished. or at least we can hope that's the case ╥﹏╥

SAME *cross fingers* I really liked what the novel has so far and I really hope we get to see it through till the end (tho I do understand major writer's block can last for years sometimes, as it's happened to me before)
For those wondering this was originally part of a Novel adapt Anthology to promote a few authors novels (that's why it has very few chapters rn). This story has recently gone to a paid single version which is a possible sign that they plan to continue the manga since the JP status is marked as ongoing.
