I'm just in shock

This was one of the most profound, well-thought of, mature pieces of BL in my history of reading (25 years a yaoi fan lol)

I enjoy novels, so i was really not expecting that level of depth in the writing. Even the artist's final musings about the novel was expressed with so much thought and respect for the culture, geopolitics, and philosophical themes of the source material. I truly enjoyed everything about this series that I didn't care about the sex scenes at all nor about the fact that this was discontinued. I'm just genuinely so appreciative that in an ocean of brain rot BL with the same themes reshuffled over and over again, there's a body of work like this that aims to actually evoke thinking. And i could tell from the art that the artist really REALLY wanted to faithfully adapt this to the best of their ability.

Damn, what a treat. Time to scour the internet for novel translations
