First I wanna say I don't condone any of ts irl of course but I am enjoying it it in fiction bc it DOES actually make sense and it's not as sudden as it feels BECAAAUSE
MC wanted out obviously bc he was confined, but he was also feeling betrayal and resentment towards ML who would not only strip him of his freedom but also seemed so cold and sort of devoid of any warmth. We see here that MC actually missed him the whole time, and we know ofc that he did already have feelings for him that he just felt that he couldn't act on logically

But then we all find out kind of suddenly that it was all entirely an act and a way for ML to get Mc's attention. Every part of it was just ML doing the worst things he could think to do because if MC hated him more than anything else, at least he'd be in MC's mind at all.
He breaks down and cries and makes it obvious he regrets everything (literally saying like "what was the point? Why did I.." or something) and that means MC realizes that ML actually fully loved him and reciprocated his actual feelings the whole time and I think he really just feels in that moment that they're back to a decade ago and he's looking at the younger, insecure ML he had a soft spot for that just wants to love and be loved back

Does that mean that what ML did was okay? No ofc not, but I think it made MC really feel differently about everything and MC to begin with is way too forgiving and also traumatize as is, I think he's just resigned himself to his feelings and would rather live with the person he knows he can't happily live without than to be separated for the sake of what's healthier

Finally someone said it, good analyzing. Honestly Hee-seo would be a great partner if he hadn’t done that shit earlier but if MC decided to bury the bad memories and wants to make happier memories with Hee-seo then that’s that, I suppose. I’m not complaining either, this lovey dovey stuff really suits them.
