I don’t like Taegu either but it’s so clear what he meant. I’m not sure if you take things too literal but he didn’t like yeongwoon until he was way past adulthood. He still hasn’t even realized his feelings in the current past. Let’s calm down because he only had sympathy for him in the beginning.
I get your point. But they were together when yeongwoon was a literal minor. A CHILD. Just because he is an adult now doesn't mean it is okay for him to have feelings now. And he is aware of his feelings. I don't think I can romantically view someone whom I knew since they were a baby. No matter of explanation can justify his behaviour. Though I am glad he was there for him otherwise something bad would have happened. But having feelings for him is just disgusting. Maybe not for you but for me it is.
