I know that most do not know how the market works and believe mangakas just want to make easy money doing One-Volume mangas.
Gangan Bliss is a new magazine(a online one if i am not mistaken), 9 series, 3 finished and 6 ongoing (which mean that obviously some series are going to be more long, otherwise there is no content) so, the reason why this manga is good is because the author was given a long run from the begining. In other words, she has the opportunity to expand in the story and characters, and other things you can add from the begining knowing you will have the time to develop. Most BL manga are given one volume from the start by the magazine. It is difficult to craft a story in one volume, that’s why most are focused only on the MC’s lives, hardly have secondary characters, are rushed and little worldbuilding. Nothing bad in wanting something in a story, but these things have nuances and the constant “Why can’t more yaoi be like this?” as if was authors fault and not magazines, it is annoying. I also noticed that a lot of people genuinely believes BL mangakas make one-volume works to “drown on easy money” or “it’s easy money for them! that’s why they mass produce these short and badly stories” —with badly being synonymous with for I Don’t Like It— I implore you all to search how much mangakas are paid. Even Gintama’s author talked about this lol. Not to mention how the pay varies depending on the demographic (with BL being one with lower pay according to multiple mangakas) Companies behind magazines are gaining money, no authors. It is easier for a BL mangaka to receive an offer to start a new manga than to continue an existing one. Our dinning table being the most recent example of this, the sequel came out after seven years lol.
I have read some comments and
