I think people get really into this because of the quality. When it's something shit that you'd never read again it doesn't exactly need to have an incredibly moral standard because you don't really care about it, but when people get into something they want it to be more ethical. It's just that yeongwoo had no one else and he was the only adult in his life. I love stories like tgcf where when the main characters meet they're 10 and 17. Its just the power dynamic on this is strange and whenever 'mister' does something like that scene in the kitchen Yeongwoo gets really uncomfortable. It's just unpleasant and unnecessary

So hopefully he just fell in love with Mac when he was older because that is NOT grooming and it does NOT make him a pedophile. Just like projection manhwa, a tree with hidden roots etc.
