It's not unnecessary, the mangaka isn't just putting in for a nonsensical reason or rape porn that never is touched up or brought up. It's not even graphic, just haunting, uncomfortable, and sad. His and the others' trauma is a part of the narrative. It works in the story and builds out the background of this island. The story showcases the tragedy of human involvement in religion and the supernatural. Which cases have happened in history

huh?? i wasn’t even talking about this manga.. i said a TON of bls have completely unnecessary SA scenes. If you read our comments criticizing the huge problem the bl genre has with rape and the only thing you can think of replying is explaining and justifying how this manga’s scene was indeed necessary you need to reevaluate how your brain works and work on your reading comprehension skills…

You don't have to be a jerk; it was an honest mistake. You know, humans make mistakes (especially since I was distracted). It's not like I'm insulting you. I was just talking about this manga, as what I wrote in my comment was addressing the points that were involved in this story. I hope to never cross your path again and I hope you have a good day or night.
I know it's good to be aware... but everytime. every single time the uke is always either being abused or r*ped... in like most BLs in general, is that really necessary?
