To be given a blessing and yet humans would still exploit you for all you have is just sick. It clearly encapsulates how humans' greed would be their own demise. It's the fact that nearly all of the Kannagi are used inhumanely and yet they still expect them to be grateful and to be in servitude for the rest of their lives to the same people who ruins them without fail is a hard pill to swallow. Fiction or not, I wouldn't wish upon anyone to experience these kinds of trauma nor should these kinds of issues be silenced or normalized in any way. This is a great read with great plot that also talks about real life problems and issues that should be talked about.
