In this situation you could also say that you an your companion were having a passionate discussion about the aspects of the building, like they style, time period, materials or types of plants in the garden depending on what you chose to complement. Make sure to say it's a dream to study in this feald, but you never had the opportunity, to explain any obvious lack of knowledge that could be seen as suspicious.
