it's quite sad actually....it's a Jinx that he built himself...like his mind played on him....w the PTSD of his father haunting him and him making a step by step method to counter his rising anxiety....it's really quite sad. Sex to dull down the thoughts, milk to remember the granny, cologne to never feel like how the 'smelly' powerless kid did.

I’m happy with it. It’s a small and normal enough origin that he became obsessed with and it grew into the current routine. If the guys had said we’re getting a massage/doing yoga maybe it would have been that instead:/

the most important aspect of his jinx (sex) was just kinda... thrown in there compared to the other two (milk and cologne). unlike milk and cologne, his need for sex affected other people (via dubious consent, rape, etc), so i'm disappointed his need for sex was just wrtten off as "he just happened to have sex the night before the match and won".
i don't think there will be more details on the jinx. this was pretty much it I feel, a coping mechanism.
but if Dan ever asks JK about it maybe we'll get more perspective on it.

Not really. Mingwa has been withholding Jaekyungs backstory for so long, I was thinking it would be more complex and maybe emotional. But it just felt so lackluster. Although bj Alex was a fun read, it wasn’t the best written story and I shouldn’t have expected otherwise from this.
tbf i don't expect a majority of korean authors to be elaborate and understand the depth of emotions. quite alot of stories are superficial. they like the concept but don't go into detail about making it makes sense. that's where I jump to ao3 xD

I really liked Lost in the Cloud. Also a little controversial maybe, but The Ghost Nocturne has a pretty good story and premise.
