He gave up nothing for her, if you’re not satisfied in a relationship and if you think you’re missing something then leave the person, don’t belittle her and gaslight her to break her and her confidence. Holy shit. I didn't know he gave up his chance to have an easy life for her...that adds a new tint to this.
Obviously doesn't excuse his behavior...but it definitely explains more how he turned out that way. Shame and rancor must of warred in his chest like crazy. Poverty dehumanizes you.
