I believe it's important to understand the characters' context and history, but absolutely nothing excuses his behavior with Dan. The entire past, the traumas, and the fucked-up references explain it, but they don't justify it. I really wish our dear Dan had the strength to escape this trap, which is this toxic relationship with a rapist, because even though he's super hot, that's what Jaekyung is: a selfish, rapist bastard! But I see the narrative heading toward some undeserved redemption bullshit...
