I think, at least concerning his sex partners, he treated them as a tool–not a person. So he didn't care about their feelings.

We understand that he uses sex as copy mechanism for peaceful sleep and winning but why do he need to treat people bad???? That's still not explained. You can't say that it's because his childhood was filled with rough people as he do had people who showed soft corner for him
