Lots of thoughts about this manhwa rn

So sorry for all the incredibly long yapping but felt like writing some of my thoughts here!

So, I just started reading this manhwa last month since a friend recommended it to me, and looking at this manhwa from an unbiased perspective (now that I’m caught up), I think every single person in this story needs therapy. Seriously.

I know Jaekyun and Dan will probably be endgame considering this author’s past works, but a part of me wishes the story would end up with them going separate ways and finding their own happiness through healing. These are two deeply flawed individuals, so it honestly feels so forced to pair them together.

Jaekyun was raised by an abusive, alcoholic man. I feel pity for younger Jk, but it’s both saddening and ironic that he became the same person he hated the most. His father had an addiction to alcohol, and it’s pretty coincidental that Jaekyun needs sex to feel “well” (People with addictions become addicts for THIS same reason. They need something that brings them either euphoria or a sense of peace and normalcy).
He’s genuinely a tragic yet horrible person who clearly did not think of seeking help, and that caused him to hurt so many people (including Dan) in the name of his “Jinx”. This man needs therapy.

Don’t even get me STARTED on Dan. It seems like tragedy haunts him everywhere he goes. Debt, depression, lack of safety and health, the situation with his grandma, etc. Dan is another victim of his circumstances, and, considering that he’s currently in a very vulnerable situation, he became a person who was easy to be preyed upon. The relationship between Dan and Jaekyun doesn’t feel like romance, but an unhealthy attachment between two people who are in serious need of professional help.
I would honestly prefer to see these two go their own separate ways, but after reading a few comments, it seems like this author tends to enjoy writing relationships like these.

I don’t want to disrespect or make anyone who enjoys this manhwa feel judged; there’s no shame on liking stories like these in fiction (I’m reading it too after all), but do remember this is the perfect example of a toxic relationship. This is not healthy in real life! Stay safe out there guys, and know your worth. Know you are wonderful and deserve all of the good things in the world. Don’t let Jaekyuns into your life! (P.S: I’m sorry for the spelling mistakes, English is not my first language ╥﹏╥).

I agree with you too! There's a lot to unpack from their story, their characters, circumstances, back stories, relationship, and the likes. You'll hate and love them for different reasons, but they DO need therapy, especially Dan.
You stay safe out there too.
