y'all know this says MATURE for a reason right

I freaking love this manga so much bru. The plot is very really well thought out and the character depth is soooo great! I don't really understand why some of you are very adamant on covering up the darker themes displayed in the plot though, especially because they DO tie into the story...like, you're reading a manga where one of the main characters was raised a part of a (basically) religious cult where it's "okay" for people to abuse them and live to serve others in exchange for the ability to stay alive for a few years btw...did you think it would stay shallow btw? are we using our comprehension skills btw?? The reason the author shows the things the kannagi's have endured is to make the readers aware of what really goes on behind the scenes. The island that they live on is NOT a utopia even though the nobles and Lord portray it as one, and it's like we're learning about all of this alongside Alto and Elva. Additionally, a large reason Elva's assaults were brought up was to remind him why Mika (and the past kannagi's) had a reason to be so full of rage, clearly a tactic Mika used to try and recruit him on his side, yet he didn't let the anger consume him because he finally has someone who makes him want to survive (character development) + to show how confused/scared Elva's actually been (unlike how tough and strong-willed his character normally seemed). We see this when Mika asked Elva why he was pretending to be in love, and later in the flashback when Elva realized he continued to go back to the man who sa'd him because he wanted someone to be kind to him. The scene isn't "useless to the plot" or some other bullshit because it is literally one of the biggest explainers as to why the black sea wants to kill humans and why the nobles ARE the bad guys. Also kiss me if i'm right but there is legit a warning in the summary that literally says "discretion is advised" so I'd assume there would be sensitive topics brought up idk (if you aren't prepared to see a mature motif, I would recommend reading comments and checking lists to see a more in-depth description to decide if you should continue reading). It can be hard to stay invested in a manga series if there aren't any complexities that encourage the readers to fight alongside the characters. Overall, I'm js pissed that people are angry that a MATURE manga has genuinely MATURE issues being dealt with instead of having 2 smexy guys becoming pillow warriors the entire time. Any who, if you are someone who is wanting to read this I reallyyyy recommend it but please be aware of the points I made before hand! Js don't be someone who complains abt things after being warned about them bru

I know it's true that all media relies on the public's opinions and it is completely understandable why people wouldn't want to read about such intense topics (+ why they would think books shouldn't have csa scenes). With that being said tho, not all books are made to escape reality–instead, many work towards bringing you back into it. Individuals read stories like this, not because they enjoy watching people suffer, but because they are able to empathize with the characters and want to watch them reach their happy ending. What pmo the most is when ppl dumb down serious sa, s*icide, and r*pe as just problematic issues that should not exist...yet missed the entire point that it being there in the first place is to show just how devestating and disgusting the action is. (also before anyone says anything I am obviously NOT advocating for sa, especially the use of it in Yaoi but thats for another time, so don't play that sneaky shi with me bru)(my meds js wore off so i'm realizing i wrote hella lmao)
