... It's the only way he's going to silence all the voices in his head that have been haunting him his whole life. He has way too much trauma following him his entire life.... Way too much trauma to unpack, address, and resolve. No "superstition" is going to help him. What he figured out wasn't a superstition, it was a mind-body coping mechanism that is physically and mentally able to clear out his head for a short amount of time using sex the night before a match. It releases neurochemicals like dopamine, oxytocin, endorphins, and other hormones that have a drastic effect on the brain and how it functions, allowing it to relax itself and operate differently for a moment in time. He found a way to psychologically hack himself with short-term effects. But effective psychiatry/therapy will have more long-lasting results. The mentality of his entire career seems to be built after running away from the haunting voices, shame, and abuse of his past. He cannot spend the rest of his life running, he has to confront the trauma and go to therapy. Or else he is going to continue to burden Kim Dan and everybody else with all of that unhealed trauma. The reason why I called him "boy/man" earlier is bcuz, even though he grew up into the man he is today, he still has the mentality of the little boy he was trying to survive. That part of him never grew up.
